SILENT TIGER TAI CHI
Tai Chi Forms – Qi Gong – Breathing to Improve Health – Meditation
This form of exercise is very quiet and gentle and is a major part of our discipline, the practice of which deeply increases the technical ability and precision of our techniques, movement and breathing.
We practice the White Crane and Chen style of Tai Chi that was taught and passed down through their own separate historic lineages to the main FMA (Fujian Martial Arts) and Chen Style of Tai Chi schools located in the UK.
They can both be practised by anyone - young or old, male or female.
There a number of forms we teach but predominantly the Shuang Yang Pei Ho 66 and 132 move form of the White Crane Art along with the 8 and 11 forms of the Chen Style Tai Chi Art.
These forms encourage the development of a strong healthy body, flexibility, a good posture, relaxation, correct breathing and concentration.
They initially involve the regular practice of sixty six moves taught to the student over a period of 18-24 months as well as the Chen Style 8 and 11 move form taught over a shorter period of 6-12 months. Over time it helps build a healthy body and decreases the likely hood of illnesses as well as enhances an individual’s breathing technique and improved concentration levels.
Qi-gong involves the practice of a set of exercises that are designed to remove excess or diseased qi from the body and replenish it with new fresh energy. Along with the various forms these exercises improve flexibility, strength, depth of breathing and health as well as help aid relaxation!
Basic Meditation is taught to help clear the mind and allow an increase in concentration.
Traditional Weapons
We have an array of weapons that are taught at our clubs that are taught to more experienced members over time. These weapons include the Sword, Staff and Single & Double Fan –all of which have their own forms.
Seminars
We organise a number of Tai Chi or appropriate, seminars during the year that are run on a Saturday morning, normally over a 2-3 hour period.
These cover a more in-depth aspect to the exercises and forms or involve weapons or a combination of both as well as having invited guest Instructors/Masters, come to Sutton Coldfield to co-ordinate a seminar on their relevant expertise ie. Other forms/styles/Weapons!
Please note: Local Seminars are purely for the regular student member of Silent Tiger however the Regional and National seminars are generally open to all!
